Fog

The fog comes

The fog comes Meandering and distant

The fog comes Meandering and distant on little cat feet.

The fog comes Meandering and distant on little cat feet. stalking the night.

The fog comes Meandering and distant on little cat feet. stalking the night. It sits looking

The fog comes Meandering and distant on little cat feet. stalking the night. It sits looking Mocking the insignificance

The fog comes Meandering and distant on little cat feet. stalking the night. It sits looking Mocking the insignificance over harbor and city

The fog comes Meandering and distant on little cat feet. stalking the night. It sits looking Mocking the insignificance over harbor and city of the once "great city"

The fog comes Meandering and distant on little cat feet. stalking the night. It sits looking Mocking the insignificance over harbor and city of the once "great city" on silent haunches

The fog comes Meandering and distant on little cat feet. stalking the night. It sits looking Mocking the insignificance over harbor and city of the once "great city" on silent haunches ridiculing with midnight eyes

The fog comes Meandering and distant on little cat feet. stalking the night. It sits looking Mocking the insignificance over harbor and city of the once "great city" on silent haunches ridiculing with midnight eyes and then moves on.

The fog comes Meandering and distant on little cat feet. stalking the night. It sits looking Mocking the insignificance over harbor and city of the once "great city" on silent haunches ridiculing with midnight eyes and then moves on. fading, then gone.

Meandering and distant stalking the night. Mocking the insignificance of the once "great city" ridiculing with midnight eyes fading, then gone.

*** This is a tribute piece to Carl Sandburg. It was inspired by his piece "Fog" which I then used to base an interlinear poem on (which kind of resembles a call and response format). Every odd-numbered line was his work! Mine was merely the "response" lines!
