I just finished reading Maya Angelou’s Complete Poem Collection. I also read One Last Word by Nikki Grimes who takes famous poems from the Harlem Renaissance and uses the Golden Shovel form to create new poems. This is my first attempt with the Golden Shovel.

Many dare not listen for they say it's of the past, BUT
