“Good morning class.” Ivy stood in front of her blackboard. “Good morning Mrs. Russel!” The high school students said with big smiles. “Oh, how I love hearing that name.” Ivy felt goosebumps run through her body. The classroom filled with light chuckles. “Any signs of a baby yet?” Black haired Harvey asked.
“Harvey, Jake and I married only a week ago.” Ivy said. “You never know.” Harvey winked and the classroom snickered. Harvey was about to open his mouth again when his best friend sitting next to him elbowed his arm
“When are you gonna learn some manners?” His bud Francisco asked. Ivy raised her eyebrows and tried to hold in a laugh and walked back to her desk. “Aw come on man, it was just a bit of fun.” Harvey said in a whiny voice. Francisco rolled his eyes and looked back at his school work
That evening Ivy and her new husband dined together at Town Diner. Jake leaned his arm against the table and held the side of his face with his hand. “I feel like I’ve known you my whole life.” He said.
Ivy chuckled. “You don’t realize you say that often do you?” “Do I?” Jake’s eyes turned droopy as if he was trying to be sexy. Ivy laughed out loud. A few wonderful hours later, the young couple walked home
Ivy looked up at the stars and smiled. “It’s such a perfect night.” She said softly. Jake put his arm around his wife and pulled her close to him. “With you, every night is perfect.” Jake said putting his other hand in his pocket. His fingers swirled around a surprise he wanted to give her.
They stopped walking and faced each other. “I feel like there’s something you want to say.” Ivy looked at him hopefully. Jake sighed and gazed into her eyes. “Ivy, I-“ Jake was cut off by the sounds of screams and fire shooting down from the sky.
