I won't look children in the eyes ever again

Melting copper

It took one breath and a blink of an eye

For me to feel like melting copper

The dawn was broken by the shimmering cry

Of the years between what's real and what's proper

The time seemed to mock itself

As the night painted your hair in silver and golden

I was lying there pulling the hands of the clock

And wondered if something was supposed to be molded

But when the morning dew came

Accompanied by the greyish goodbyes

I swore I will never talk to children again

They see the reflection of you in my eyes

The one which makes me want to hide the coins in my pockets

So that my hands don't feel like

So that my hands don't feel like melting copper
