From Florida to Oregon, I must say I miss the Sun.

An Ode to the Sun

by valerie

Beaming,

your rays envelop me like a mother cradles her offspring.

Radiant,

the heat dances on my skin, reminding me that I am made of flesh and tissue..

..easily burned.

Nuturing,

tell me mother star, did you anticipate for us to be so destructive?

You remain peaceful,

you watch us as we float by you, accompanied by everything else within your gravitational pull.

Ironic,

how what gives us life, what assists the sprouts with breaking through to the surface of the fertile ground..

can aid in our destruction.

Beautifully written. I am from California and now live in Texas by way of the rest of the world. Needless to say, I love the sun. I appreciate your gorgeous ode. Great post!!!!
