An attraction turned into obsession. A poem based on a short story I wrote in which I attempted to use both definitions of the word toothsome within the story.

Toothsome

Toothsome: adjective 1a : AGREEABLE, ATTRACTIVE b : sexually attractive 2 : of palatable flavor and pleasing texture : DELICIOUS

Note: This poem is only a fraction of a larger story. I merely summarized my horror fiction into a poem. If you want to see the full story, drop me a line. :) or, if you want to just see more of my horror writing in general, let me know in the comments below. | | V

I saw her every day - imperfections pock marked her skin while the wind waltzed with her auburn hair, an eclipse blocking out the twin moons between her lids.

A plan I had devised, memorized,

A plan I had devised, memorized, escaped from the hemispheres of my brain evanescent like the smoke from her cigarette.

But before I knew it, her thigh touched mine on the bus bench.

Her mouth moved like butter spreads on wheat toast while she spoke,

Her mouth moved like butter spreads on wheat toast while she spoke, her tongue never tripping over its toes.

Suddenly a year passed by,

she kisses me goodnight, always the proper wife. A yearning flourished at her touch,

and her lips tasted unsatisfying as they left the proximity of my teeth.

I waited long until she would not suspect -

For any butcher will tell you

For any butcher will tell you fear spoils the meat -

knife on the nightstand, I carved myself steaks she tasted wholesome and sweet,

I knew the first time my eyes scrutinized every fold in her skin, that one day

Her beauty would transform inside of me into toothsome ecstasy.
