They say I am a struggle Child!
Yes indeed I am!
Born out of the trenches imposed on us by our slave masters, perpetuating symptoms of self-hate.
We all seeking to flee from this false construct of our democracy, founded on the blood of our forefathers.
We constantly yearn for the freedom that was promised by the greats that fought in the front lines of our liberation.
And yet, freedom is indeed not free!
I say freedom is not free when a child has to fend for themselves and their siblings as a consequence of abuse or an untimely passing of their parent.
Freedom is not free when a woman is scorned by the very man or society that is meant to respect, love and protect her.
I say freedom is not free when a child is denied shelter, education or food because of corruption.
Freedom is not free when we stand aside and do nothing in the midst of this destruction.
Freedom is not free when the poor are denied adequate healthcare or basic services as a result of self-enrichment.
When will our people truly govern?
When will we become a nation that is disgusted by our lack of comprehension or compassion?
Isn’t it astonishing how quick we are to claim it, yet have little empathy or ubuntu as we quick to stain it?
We easily betray our own in the face of adversity and let crime rule with an iron fist.
And now, drugs flood our streets.
As we rush for the fourth industrial revolution our constitution is paraded amiss.
And no, this is not Christmas. For no such thing exists.
We live in a society where senseless deaths are a daily occurrence and our conscience is disconnected.
And yet, you wonder why freedom is not free?
Freedom is not free because you not taking a stand.
Freedom is not free because we celebrate mediocracy and desecrate our own dignity.
We watch as our own are shot or robbed in public spots as we too scared to intervene or report such atrocious crimes.
Stop! At what point will it stop?
At what point will you stop..to think and think, and think.., overthinking every possible scenario instead of actually doing something to stop it?
If ever our society is to survive, we must think of the future we want for our children and act on a solution that takes us forward to enjoy a peaceful life!
And no, revenge is not the answer. Think.., for that too is poisonous. We need to build better foundations for our children.
Ones based on true consciousness; of love, respect and oneness.
In all dimensions of our universe.
It is our responsibility to ensure we raise queens and kings in these precarious times and current states of emergencies.
For bondage and slavery are not for us to endure any longer.
