by twisted

it's like spring time for my mind

things are blooming again after the cold winter

the birds are starting to sing

kids are playing outside in the quickly warming weather

everything is making sense again

and I'm not sad anymore

this is what I have to remember when I feel like I'm about to make the biggest mistake

and take my life:

it gets better

the cold weather transitions into warm

the birds and squirrels and bunnies come out along with the children

you forget about winter

it's no longer a thought in your mind

because you have this radiating, brand new season right in front of you

sometimes when it's winter and you're freezing

you forget about other seasons

you forget what it feels like to have the sun on your skin

or stare at a sunset

or jump in the pool

or have a summer bonfire

you feel hopeless

like this icy weather will never go away

but year after year, it does

it always does

This was ingenious using the seasons as a metaphor for human emotions. I loved it. You wrote very well. Great poem.
