Jimin and Sunhwa both turned toward the studio’s front door, staring at Hoseok.
“Hoseok!” Sunhwa chirped.
She stepped closer to the taller, holding her face with her hands. Her eyes turned into crescents as she tried to start mundane conversation with Hoseok.
Clearly disgusted by her, Hoseok took a step back.
“What did you ask Jimin?”
Sunhwa’s eyes widened, nibbling on her bottom lip as she struggled to match Hoseok’s hard gaze.
“I just wanted to know if Jimin was gay,” she whispered.
Hoseok’s brows furrowed. Her stomach dropped as she watched the usual cheerful man turn into a flame of wrath.
“Why would you ask him that?” Hoseok growled. “Uhh-”
Jimin was grateful for Hoseok’s support, but he wasn’t sure why he kept pushing. He was simply planning on telling Sunhwa to mind her business and then leave.
Maybe he was thinking too much.
“God!” Sunhwa yelled, “He won’t leave you alone. Doesn’t it get annoying?” Jimin’s stomach dropped.
“I’ve never seen any of the other male dancers act like that with you. If he is gay then that’s even more embarassing.”
“Embarrassing?” “A gay guy going after a straight man? It’s embarrassing and pathetic.”
“Sunhwa, Jimin is my boyfriend.”
In an instant, Hoseok placed himself next to Jimin, intertwining their fingers. Jimin’s jaw dropped. His heart threatened to pop out his chest.
“W-What?” Sunhwa’s voice sounded broken. Her arms wrapped around her waist, head shaking.
“How is he better than me? I’ve known you longer. I’ve known you since we were kids. I’m a girl!”
Sunhwa’s head shot up, revealing her tear stained face. Jimin’s grasp tightened around Hoseok’s hand. “I hate you,” Sunhwa muttered.
“No! I hate you!”
Jimin’s eyes began to burn as he stared at Sunhwa’s finger pointed directly at him. A lump blocked his throat, rendering him speechless.
Sunhwa wailed, shocking the men before her. Before either of them could utter a word, she turned around, quickly running away from the pair.
Sunhwa hated him. He couldn’t help but feel responsible for her pain.
“Hey, are you okay?” Jimin didn’t respond, head a jumbled mess.
Hoseok cupped the younger’s cheek, caressing his skin with his thumb. Jimin stared up at him, tears threatening to fall.
“She hates me,” Jimin murmured.
“Jimin, you have nothing to do with that. She ju-”
“She knows nothing about ke and she still hates me,” Jimin whispered.
“That’s exactly what puts her in the wrong.”
Hoseok stared at the younger, body vibrating with emotion. He was angry at Sunhwa. She was the cause for Jimin’s pain.
“I really like you,” Jimin sniffled, “a lot.”
Hoseok softly kissed the shorter. “I really like you too,” Hoseok smiled, “a lot.”
Jimin rested his head on Hoseok’s chest, sighing as Hoseok’s arms wrapped around him, protecting him from the world. Hoseok sprinkled kisses on the shorter’s head.
“Did you know?”
Hoseok sucked air between his teeth, tilting his head as he thought of his response.
“I guess I always had a feeling, but I never felt the same,” Hoseok revealed, “I’ve never really considered her a friend. I just think of her as someone I kind of have to get along with.”
Jimin couldn’t help but feel bad for Sunhwa. His skin prickled once he put himself in Sunhwa’s shoes. How she handled the situation was horrible, but really she was in pain.
“I feel bad,” Jimin muttered, nuzzling his face in Hoseok’s chest.
“Imagine you liked someone and you’ve known that person for years. Then all of a sudden that person starts dating someone they just met.”
Hoseok was surprised by Jimin’s empathy, especially with everything he just went through. However, when he thought about it, he understood what Jimin was getting at.
Hoseok tightened his grip around Jimin, hoping he could comfort Jimin through his actions rather than words. Hesitantly, they pulled away from one another. The pair walked to Jimin’s home in silence, hands clasped together.
Jimin was very upset about how she approached him, but he couldn’t hate her. He simply hoped they would be able to talk this out next class.
Once his house came into view, his heart sunk, not wanting to part from Hoseok.
“If you need anything, just know I’m here for you.”
Jimin quickly wrapped his arms around the taller. Hoseok’s eyes widened as Jimin mumbled incoherent sentences on his chest.
“I can’t hear you, baby,” Hoseok chuckled, ruffling the younger’s hair.
Jimin choked on his words, feeling his face heat up with color. Hoseok loved how flustered Jimin got when that word was uttered.
“Can you stay over?” Jimin whispered, scared to hear his response.
He squeezed his eyes shut, holding on to Hoseok as if it’d be his last time with the older.
“Of course,” Hoseok softly sang.
The moment Jimin awoke, he squeezed himself between Hoseok’s arm. Hoseok was in charge of cooking and cleaning duty, wanting to make sure Jimin relaxed.
When Hoseok wasn’t preparing the next meal, he was given the pleasure of holding Jimin between his arms. Jimin nearly purred as Hoseok ran his fingers through his hair.
Together they were in an euphoric state.
However, Jimin was reminded of Sunhwa as he stared at the clock. Hoseok had left yesterday night, leaving Jimin alone with his thoughts.
It was 4:30 pm, meaning Jimin would have to venture to Chanwoo’s studio soon. His mind was screaming at him, telling him to stay, but he knew he couldn’t.
Suddenly, Jimin’s phone began to vibrate in his pocket. Quickly, he pulled the device out.
Seokie <3: are you on your way? Me: i don’t think i want to go :(
Seokie <3: baby :( Seokie <3: it’ll be okay! i promise Seokie <3: i won’t let anything happen to you
Jimin’s eyes turned into crescents as he read Hoseok’s messages. He didn’t know what he would do without Hoseok.
After taking a deep breath, Jimin made his way to the studio, messaging Hoseok for strength.
Jimin clenched his fists as the studio came into sight. He wasn’t ready. The young man simply hoped that today would be a normal day.
With a shaky hand, Jimin pushed the glass door open.
Jimin was pulled into a bone crushing hug, worried disappearing as Hoseok’s laugh filled his ears.
Chanwoo called the class to the center of the room, repeating the same agenda as last class. Everyone stretched, quickly going to their usual spots once they were through.
Despite everything being the same as last class, the atmosphere felt very different to Jimin.
Jimin gnawed on his bottom lip, hesitantly looking around the room. His eyes landed on Sunhwa.
A group of girls surrounded her, eagerly listening to her whisper. Her eyes suddenly shot up, locking with Jimin’s. A sinister smile pulled across her face.
She quirked a brow at Jimin, challenging him.
Hoseok looked away from his phone, eyeing the younger.
His blood ran cold once he noticed the tears in his eyes. Before he could ask what happened, he noticed the hushed whispers echoing off the studio walls.
Every students’ eyes were on Jimin.
Knowing exactly who was behind this, Hoseok’s eyes darted to Sunhwa.
Her smirk quickly disappeared as she turned away from the older.
Hoseok pulled the younger toward him, resting his hand on Jimin’s hip.
“It’ll be okay. Let’s just get through this class together.”
