Jimin laid on Hoseok’s bed, staring at the ceiling. Hoseok was cuddled up next to Jimin, fast asleep. He brushed Hoseok’s hair with his fingers as he began to giggle.
Before the pair laid in bed to sleep, Hoseok had eaten enough pizza to feed an entire family. No one would have ever guessed that Hoseok liked to eat in big quantities.
It was like a whole new side of Hoseok was being revealed. His heart bloomed as he stared at the sleeping beauty.
He didn’t remember when Hoseok fell asleep. In fact, he didn’t remember how they even ended up on the bed.
All he really remembered was Hoseok bringing him inside the house, then ordering pizza, and then watching Hoseok stuff three pizzas in his mouth.
His stomach rumbled as he thought about the pizza. Hoseok gave him a slice, but Jimin forgot to eat it. He took one or two bites, but was too distracted by Hoseok.
Jimin didn’t really like pizza anyway so it wasn’t a big deal.
However, now that Jimin thought about it, he didn’t remember the last time he had a real meal. He tried to remember, he really did, but nothing came up.
Quickly, Jimin began to touch his collarbone. It didn’t feel like he was thinning out. Everything would be fine if Jimin ate tomorrow.
Tomorrow he would eat enough to make up for his lack of food.
Suddenly, Jimin gently pinched Hoseok’s cheek. It felt as soft and plump as a peach. “My healthy angel,” Jimin giggled.
After watching Hoseok eat today, it was quite apparent that Jimin didn’t have to worry about him. Jimin began to caress Hoseok’s cheek with his thumb.
The stars danced on Hoseok’s face as Jimin admired his beauty. His skin was as clear as a porcelain doll’s. The wind made Hoseok’s lashes sway as his eyes rested.
Everything about Hoseok was perfect.
Gently, Jimin kissed Hoseok’s cheek. He slowly slid off the bed and walked to the bathroom. Jimin really was tired and wanted to go to sleep, but his body wouldn’t let him.
“Maybe it’s because I need to go to the bathroom,” Jimin told himself as he locked the door behind him.
After he finished, he stared at himself in the mirror. He couldn’t recognize himself.
His cheekbones jutted out like the wings of a plane. He traced his finger over his jawline and noticed it had become more prominent.
Jimin began to remember how plump Hoseok’s cheeks were. Their cheeks were not even remotely alike anymore. “What happened?” Jimin asked himself as he continued to examine his face.
Jimin gasped when he noticed it. There were dark bags hanging under his eyes. He never remembered having bags, at least not this bad.
His eyes resembled the eyes of a raccoon as it stared at the headlights of a car. The mirror revealed all of Jimin’s imperfections. It held no punches.
As he trembled, Jimin realized he looked like a corpse rotting away.
“What does Hoseok even see in you?”
Jimin wrapped his arms around his waist and squeezed.
“He thinks you’re disgusting.”
His heart began to make his bones shake as it pounded against his chest.
“Hoseok is embarrassed by you.”
“Stop it!” Jimin yelled as he dropped to the floor. His knees hit the floor hard, but the expected pain didn’t follow. He covered his ears and began to sob. “Stop,” Jimin cried.
Jimin was drowning in his tears and began to gasp for air. As each tear dropped, Jimin’s trembling began to increase. Quickly, Jimin scooted himself against the wall and laid his head back.
The tear stained boy looked up to the ceiling and pulled his legs to his chest. Despair devoured him as he sat there, defenseless. The dark aura wrapped him in its arms and cradled him.
Jimin squeezed his eyes shut as the entity caressed him. Slowly, the entity seeped into Jimin’s body and made his body its home.
His arms and legs dropped as he sat on the floor. As he stared at the ceiling, Jimin pictured Hoseok smiling happily at him. Hoseok pushed his hand through Jimin’s hair and brought him close.
“I love you,” Hoseok whispered as he embraced Jimin. “I love you too,” Jimin giggled as he kissed Hoseok’s cheek. The pair intertwined their hands as they walked off in the distance.
Slowly, they disappeared from Jimin’s mind.
“I love you, Hoseok,” Jimin sobbed as he covered his eyes.
“I don’t know how,” Jimin whimpered as he wiped the tears from his eyes.
“The competition,” Jimin gasped as he began to stand up.
“I have to make sure we win,” Jimin muttered as he turned the sink on.
Jimin washed his tears off his face with the water. Once he was finished, he dried off with a towel. After making sure he didn’t dirty the bathroom, Jimin walked back to Hoseok’s room.
He saw Hoseok balled up on the bed wrapped under the blankets. Hoseok looked like a puppy laying in bed. Jimin faintly smiled as he walked to his side of the bed.
Gently, Jimin slid himself next to Hoseok and pulled the cover over himself.
Once Hoseok felt Jimin next to him, Hoseok wrapped his arms around Jimin’s chest and groggily whispered, “Good night.” Jimin’s heart bursted as he stared at Hoseok.
He wasn’t sure how someone could be so adorable. Making sure not to wake Hoseok, Jimin clung onto Hoseok and kissed his forehead.
“I love you, Hoseok,” Jimin whispered as tears began to well up inside his eyes.
A single tear descended down his cheek as the warm arms of sleep carried him off.
