She walks past me like a dream
A cloud of sweet pea and honey
Mingled with a hint of cigarette smoke
And I fall into it, headlong, again.
And she'll never know.
She's been here four months or so
With eyes like melted chocolate
And hair like ebony
It's more beautiful than I make it seem.
How can someone smile so infectiously?
At both babies trying to stand and the fate of the economy?
And treat everyone with a cool familiarity until someone strikes a chord?
She is butter and I am melting, melting, melting.
Away with you! I can't help but think
When I see this beautiful minx breeze past me
But don't they say, when it Wren's
And I've been drenched from the moment we met.
