It was an escapade getting Lisa out of the car to our apartment on the third floor. At 3 AM, Christina, Lisa, and I stumbled into the apartment.
We took off Lisa's shoes and sat her in her bed; what a night, at least we made it home safely. I sat her keys on the dining room table and went to the fridge for a glass of water.
While she took off her orange heels, Christina asked, "So what did you think of tonight? Are you excited, nervous, or dreading college?
" I was still pissed off at the situation; I shrugged my shoulders, "All I know right now is that I'm never letting Lisa drive to any parties, she clearly doesn't know how to carry herself.
" I took off my heels, went to the bathroom, and took a warm shower. When I got out, Christina was already asleep in bed. What a night.
What felt like a few hours later, I heard banging and clanging in the apartment.
Was Lisa stumbling around drunk?
I opened the door and I saw a middle-aged Asian woman with straight black hair staring at me as if I didn't belong in my own dorm room, when she was clearly the visitor.
I hoped she was the mother of our fourth roommate and not our actual roommate. I went to the room next door to check on Lisa and she was still asleep.
I noticed there were boxes around the bed across from her; this must be our new roommate.
I was hungover but tried to stay awake so I could meet roommate #4; when she walked in the door, she walked right past me while she was on the phone, so I waited in the dining room.
After a half-hour of listening to her on the phone, I walked back to my bedroom, and shut the door to go back to sleep.
When I closed the door, Christina woke up, "What happened, what are all those noises?
My head is killing me!" I walked over to my bed, "It's our new roommate, I tried to talk to her but she is on the phone. I am still hungover, I'll talk to her when I wake up in a few hours.
She should be moved in by then." Christina and I went back to sleep. Less than an hour later, we heard a young girl yelling, "What the hell! That's not where I want that, put it over there.
I don't like the way that looks, move it here. Ugh you frustrate the shit out of me!" I turned to Christina, "I hope that's not our new roommate...
" She looked over at me and shook her head, "Agreed."
After an hour of tossing and turning, I managed to fall back asleep. When I woke up it was around 10:30 - 11:00 in the morning and I could still hear this young girl talking on the phone.
I walked over to the room next door and saw her sitting on the bed; she was skinny and had curly brown hair, fair skin, and hazel eyes. I waved at her and she stared at me.
I walked into the kitchen and saw Christina making eggs and toast, "Do you want some?" My eyes lit up, "Yes, please.
Can you put cheese in my eggs?" She pulled the shredded cheese out from the fridge, "So have you met our new roommate?
" I raised one eyebrow, "Well I went to her room and said hi, but she just stared at me." She paused with the bread in her hand, "Same here, she looked at me like I was an alien.
It was the weirdest thing." We ate breakfast together while we watched a reality tv show. Roommate #4 walked into the kitchen to grab a pack of pop tarts, I waved again. She responded, "Hi.
" and walked back to her room. Was she mad that we were all hungover? But how would she know? On my way to the restroom, I ran into roommate #4 in the hallway and introduced myself.
She finally told me her name, it's Aaliyah. Such a pretty name for someone with a horrible attitude.
