I woke up in a place, unfamiliar and obscure, alone in a perfect world i’ve lived once before, i search for signs that it must be a dream, because moments like these are few and far between.
I open a door, and i see my reflection, a shattered contrast to this made up perfection, that exists in my mind, a place i’m confined, to escape from the reality, and leave it behind.
I walk through, but i’m not moving my feet, drifting along the path of a familiar street, i see people i know, but could not name, these people stare at me and think the same.
It’s a shame, i feel so disconnected, the path i travel is not one i expected, a lost soul, searching for any sign, a star once so bright has lost its shine.
The journey takes me to an iron gate, a man checks his watch and tells me i’m late, i tell him i know, i was really a state, but now i’m ready for my date with fate.
