@bernardtwindwil prunes that used to be plums? Lol! I like that! And why not the Washington Post? What's wrong with it? I think I'm like you, I end up editing in my mind (sometimes) before it actually comes out. At home with the chores, I'm always thinking up new stories, or continuing others, and sometimes little catchy phrases to add to my poems. My parents always say I'm on the moon at these time, but what they don't know is that I'm as down to earth as possible, lol. But other times I just stare at my screen, then out the window, then back at the screen and just take a deep breath, and start. No looking back no edits, unless it's a typo error, which always happen. Many times I've written stuff that when I read it after it's published I'm amazed, like, "I wrote this???"

@burniingaschs try to stop over thinking it sometimes! Lol! I tend to also be critical, but at times I just have to let the words just flow and the imagination take over! Everyone is beautiful. No one has the right to say otherwise, because as we are all different, who is the judge to tell us if we are or we aren't?

@therinamartins You are beautiful. You can't compare yourself to the media's stereotypical "beauties" they are only constructs of readership management, capital return, and greed. You have a beauty that as you age will only get more beautiful, unlike these prunes that used to be plums. It does not surprise me at all that you publish what comes tripping off your keystrokes. You have that kind of talent. That is a good thing as long as you are not writing for the Washington Post. I have this maniacal method of editing as I think and therefore type. So I go through 3 or 4 edits per word before I actually spit it out. In college, I use to lay out my reference books on a table and sit in the middle typing a term paper that was a single draft.

This is really nice, and I think its great that you find yourself beautiful. It's awesome that you can publish such great stuff without editing, I hear a lot of people say that the more you try re-read and re-write a poem the worse it becomes. In my case, if I edit something too much I end up not posting it at all.

@bernardtwindwil yeah I have a way of confusing my readers...:-) and who says I can't find myself beautiful? Lol! I just thought it'd be a fun way to write a poem, and decided to try it out. I think it went well. Btw, did you know almost all of my most loved poems are first drafts? No edits, no rereads a thousand times before publishing....is that a good sign?

You wrote a poem about yourself. I like this a lot. Off the charts creativity. I am so glad you found me here I love reading your missives of creative talent. No, you don;t have to say more. I must confess that I did not get it until the second slide.
