His long, wavy hair looked like it was made out of silk. He tossed it over his shoulder, then looked up at her through his lashes, showing off a tiny grin; "What do you want?" he asked.
Her heart fluttered, did he flirt with her or was he always like that? She couldn't tell. And she could never ask, that would make him think she liked him. And she didn't.
She hated him, but he was nice to look at and she liked the attention, for sure. "I don't want anything from you, specifically." She finally said.
How long has she been lost in her thoughts? Again, she couldn't tell; it felt like ages to her.
She hated when that happened, but she couldn't help it - her mind kept wandering until she managed to snap out of it.
Sometimes she'd get lost in her thoughts in the middle of a sentence and she forgot she was talking. That was always awkward, especially around people who barely knew her.
They'd think she was weird. That's what she imagined they were thinking at least. But she couldn't know for sure and she'd definitely never ask.
What was she so damn scared of?
Other people- like the tall, Thor lookalike staring at her- could do it all the time; they'd just go around and ask people what they'd think of them and they'd get an answer, too.
People didn't seem to think that was weird, but it was probably because he was generally a loud person, who needed everyone in the room to know his opinion.
She wished he'd keep his mouth shut several times a day.... Several times a class, to be honest. Ignoring his questioning face, she turned around and focused on her phone instead.
Her phone went off 8 times during last period - history class. Thank God she always has her phone on quiet , like most of the other students.
Tinder kept buzzing, but she wasn't interested in any of the matches. They were all guys she swiped right on, after 3beers. They were handsome, but mostly bland and incredibly boring.
"Hey pretty girl, how are you?" They'd text her. But she wasn't interested in their compliments. The only reason she was on that damn app was to find some cute girls.
She swiped right on pretty much every single girl on there and yet she barely had any matches with them.
Were they all straight and somehow ended up there anyway, slipping through her filter? Or was she just not interesting enough for other girls to like her?
She asked herself this question so many times, but she couldn't find an answer. Her exes and her friends -who were all guys - would always tell her that she was pretty. And she believed it, too.
But somehow this attractiveness didn't work for girls. They just didn't like her back, when everything she could think about was kissing girls or holding hands with them or touching their hair.
God damnit, what does a girl have to do to find another girl to date??
