I'm dead inside waiting for happiness to shine down upon me.

Tree

I'm a tree

Trying to grow.

I prosper with a variety of colours.

My leaves, they are often shades of green

When my life is simply summer.

I am joyous,

Thriving with life.

But at times my leaves turn different shades.

Purple

Red

Orange

Brown,

My colours slowly fade.

My emotions strain to obtain their glow.

I try to remain happy.

But then my leaves fall down,

And I am left bare.

Stripped from all emotion, all life.

And now I'm just a twig in the ground,

Useless

Hopeless

Dead.

And so I start to frost.

Ice climbing up my bark.

It freezes me over,

And I'm stuck in that time.

I can't live,

I can't feel,

I'm just frozen,

Stuck in the past.

Just on the side of the road,

Just there.

Meanwhile life passes along the road while I'm still stuck in time.

Dormant in my cold shell,

Waiting.

But soon I will have to wait no longer,

For this cold is sure to end.

Eventually my ice will melt,

And I'll be free again.

I will be able to grow back new leaves.

I will be able to start over.

I will be able to be happy again.

I can't wait till the sun reaches me.
