As "Sir" Paul McCartney once noted, the world is filled with silly love songs.
The world is also filled with some VERY freaky love songs. Here are just a few:
"I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" by Meat Loaf
Meat Loaf never explained what the "what" was he would NOT do for love. (Change his stage name, perhaps?)
"Love In An Elevator" by Aerosmith
Yes, pervs, this song is JUST what you think it's about: people boffing in an elevator. (Lovely!)
"Muskrat Love" by Captain & Tennille
I have no idea what the hell "muskrat love" is nor do I care to know what the hell "muskrat love" is. So let's move on, shall we?
"Too Young To Fall In Love" by Motley Crue
With lyrics like "Now I'm killing you/Watch your face turning blue" I'm not entirely sure what the Crue are really talking about here. Air Supply it's most definitely NOT!
"Used To Love Her" by Guns N' Roses
"I used to love her but I had to kill her" goes the chorus of this "classic" GNR song. Again, most definitely NOT Air Supply!
"L.O.V.E. Machine" by WASP
When 80s hair metal band WASP sings about their "love machine", they're NOT talking about their heart, OK? OK!
"I Still Love You" by KISS
What's so freaky about this "love" song by KISS is that the damn thing is over SIX minutes long!
"Love In The Hot Afternoon" by Gene Watson
I could be wrong but I believe this "classic" country tune is about getting a quickie in the, as Gene put it, hot afternoon. Turn up the AC indeed!
"It's Not Love (But It's Not Bad)" by Merle Haggard
Seriously, I don't have to tell you what THIS song by the late great Merle Haggard is talking about, do I? I didn't think so!
"I Love You" by Vanilla Ice
The world is, of course, full of crappy "love" songs, but this "love" song by "rapper" Vanilla Ice is one of the crappiest. (But then, this IS the "Ice Ice Baby" guy!)
"The Love Song" by Marilyn Manson
One does not normally think of "love" ditties when thinking of notorious glam rocker Marilyn Manson, but here you go! (You're welcome!)
"B*tch" by the Rolling Stones
As the Rolling Stones imply in this song, sometimes love can indeed by the B word!
Yeah, I bet these songs make you want to listen to some Air Supply right about now, don't they?
