A poem about Zephyros' and Apollon's rivalry over the love of Hyakinthos. Enjoy!

Zephyros

by SynthaSpide

When Zephyros found his lover in the arms of poetry

When Zephyros found his lover in the arms of poetry His adoration was suddenly blinded by jealousy

He no more danced to any music

He no more danced to any music Nor he found love songs to be amusing

He was desperately searching for a remedy

He was desperately searching for a remedy On every coast, hill and mountain he was walking

But wherever he looked, all he could see

But wherever he looked, all he could see Was his handsome prince's disloyalty

One day a malicious rage got hold of him,

One day a malicious rage got hold of him, He interrupted the pair's quoits with a gust of wind

Which blew the disc off course unexpectedly

Which blew the disc off course unexpectedly And struck the boy's head killing him instantly

Since then the god of the west wind is grieving

Since then the god of the west wind is grieving He roams the Earth seemingly aimlessly

Whenever he blows, it's only a gentle breeze

Whenever he blows, it's only a gentle breeze Which caresses the skin of all the suffering.
