What do YOU think of Twitter hearts?

Hearts!

Hey Twitter! Love you!

Twitter made favorites "hearts" today

Of course, half of my feed was people commenting on the hearts. I think Twitter favorites have always been a mystery to people

Hearts make it clearer how to use it

The "Favorite" star can be construed in many ways.

Is it to curate a favorite list to look at later? What if it isn't ACTUALLY my favorite? Or is it just a simple acknowledgement? It's unclear.

I personally used it as a fist bump

Hearts make it very clear.

I am LIKING your post. It's not my favorite, it's not saving. I'm showing you support.

Twitter has many changes to come.

What do you think of the hearts?

@sydney I actually hate pocket's reading experience but I love using it to store links and categorize them as research references.

@lelper that's a really interesting use case. I know other people that do that as well. I guess the vagueness was almost the beauty of favorites. It meant different things to different people. (Side note, but similar to Yo, which also gave information based on context and use-case). Have you tried Pocket? It's what I use to look back at my old stuff. More so for reading content though

I used to try to use favorites as a list of links to look at later but then started using it as acknowledgement as well once I started getting large amounts of engagement on Twitter. Of course, that ruins the idea of using it as a link list. I like that you bring up the clarity that making it a heart brings. It is interesting to know how many people don't know that they can go back and look at their favorites or likes on any social media site.
