What separates a killer networker. The ones who are genuine.

The True Secret to Networking: Be Curious About People

You. The person reading this. You have a cool background.

You've done something cool. You've experienced something interesting. You have much to teach me.

This is a fact.

There is a fascinating story inside everybody

But it takes a curious mind. Somebody who is truly curious to find it.

If you can become curious about the people around you

Meeting people becomes easy!

When you're standing in line with 50 fascinating people

How can you RESIST chatting with people to learn their stories and hear their thoughts? When you're at a coffeeshop and you see a cool laptop sticker, how can you resist asking about it?

This isn't a networking hack that you can use as a hack.

It's a way of life to build awesome relationships and get to know people. When you're genuinely curious about people the conversations come naturally.

Learn to be curious. And learn to network.

My favorite question to start a cold conversation at a conference: "Are you from around this area?" Almost always spurs an interesting conversation beyond just normal "I work for this company"

@kawaiimistery i was the same way for sure at the start. i found that the first few conversations are the hardest. once you force yourself to just start one conversation, it gets easier and better. i know it's easier said than done, but you can do it!! just dive in once!

I'm curious and interested in other people's thoughts but I'm so shy and afraid of rejection, that I just sit there and stare at them.
