Longings of the soul. Nights are hardest.

Still There

by stevewaldrop

The moon slides silently from behind a wisp of cloud,

and my mind returns yet again to you.

Where are you?

Are you looking up at the same moon?

Is your spirit hovering somewhere nearby, yearning for me also?

The hole is smaller now, a little smaller,

But still there.

Always there.

A night bird calls, voice echoing in the dark,

And the moon hides once more.

This was beautiful. It was haunting using the moon the night and love gone missing. Great poem!!!!!
