This isn't serious, just an exercise in word-smithing. I haven't done a poem where every line in the stanzas rhyme.

Your Love Was a Scam

by Profe Steve

I thought at first you were meek as a lamb, Then I learned that it was only a sham.

I thought at first you were meek as a lamb, Then I learned that it was only a sham. You crushed my heart like a battering ram, Your promise of love was merely a scam.

You were insecure but I didn’t mind, I just wish that I hadn’t been quite so blind.

You were insecure but I didn’t mind, I just wish that hadn’t been quite so blind. It was just too sad that our stars weren’t aligned. Another like me you just never will find.

I’m really not angry, I’m just sort of sad The things that I did always made you so mad.

I’m really not angry, I’m just sort of sad The things that I did always made you so mad. Then I figured out you were just a nomad And nothing you found would make your heart glad.

So I bid you adieu but I still wish you well, Even though sometimes you made my life hell.

So I bid you adieu but I still wish you well, Even though sometimes you made my life hell. You did help me learn to come out of my shell And reach for the light outside of my cell.
