If you see the text written like this, this means author's note. There it is, that's the author's note. Haha. Yeah. I wish there was a dark mode for typing. Jotaro is kind in this story, he treats Akari like how he treats Koichi. Anyways, storytime!! [Great Days theme starts playing]
It's a beautiful sunny day here at the beach in Morioh City, Japan. I'm sit on a bench next to Jotaro, who is writing about the ocean waves and the reflection of sunlight. Jotaro is working on getting his doctorate, and I'm working on getting my Associate's Degree. Jotaro is sort of mentoring me in a way, helping me understand a lot better. His assignments are more complicated than mine, but Jotaro is really smart.
"Akari, what kind of fish do you tend to find in rivers?" Jotaro asks, still writing in his notebook.
"Bass." I say.
I don't know if that's accurate, but lets just go with it for the story. This isn't canon, but I'm trying to make this work.
I smile. I've done all my work for today. I put my notebook and pen in my backpack and I stand up, stretching. Jotaro does the same.
"Jotaro, have you ever felt self conscious about having a stand?" I asked him. Recently, I had gotten shot by a stand arrow from a ghost/polaroid that has been flying around, and Josuke was the one that saved me. I just kind of completely different from everyone else, I don't feel normal at all.
"I've never felt self conscious or anything. At first when I learned I have a stand, I felt worried and confused. I did feel kind of outcasted, but Star has saved me through so much." Jotaro says, staring at the ocean. He looks like he's thinking and also a little depressed, so I change the subject. I feel angry at myself, knowing that even when he thinks about Egypt, it causes him stress.
When I first moved out here to Morioh, Jotaro was very depressed. He didn't drink or do drugs or anything, he just layed in bed, stared at the ceiling and slept. His grandfather is back in New York with his wife Suzi Q, so Jotaro felt alone. One of the reasons why he moved to Morioh is to tell Josuke that Joesph Joestar is Josuke's father, and Jotaro is his nephew. Even though Jotaro has family here, he seems rather lonely sometimes.
"Akari, do you want me to walk you to work? I gotta go to downtown anyways."
"Sure." I grab my backpack and I wait for Jotaro.
"Have you heard about the people going missing here?" Jotaro asks.
"No, I haven't. The radio hasn't talked about any people going missing, neither has the TV." I say.
"Well, theres about 20 innocent women and even children that have gone missing in the last few weeks. Their families have been confused about where they have been, and law enforcement isn't even helping the families because they don't have any evidence. Good grief, I was hoping there wouldn't be any problems this year." Jotaro explains. We cross the street and walk past the Angelo Rock. Behind the rock, a couple of upperclassmen are kissing.
"So are you going to investigate it?" I ask.
"Yes, because it might be the work of the polaroid stand user. You know the story of Angelo. I'm starting to believe that the arrow found another user, and gave that user a powerful stand."
"I hope my Eternal Blue is strong. Same thing for Koichi, I heard his stand evolved but it has a range of 50 meters."
"Akari, your Eternal Blue is strong. Remember when you and Josuke fought Chili Pepper? You helped Josuke, and saved the old man. " I look at my wrist. I still have the little flame scar when I came too close to Chili Pepper.
We turn a block from the convenience store that I work at. I love working at the convenience store.
The rest of the walk, Jotaro stays silent. When we get to the store, I thank him for helping me with the assignments. He gets in a taxi and I guess he's going home.
I walk into the building, my coworker leaving the counter. She just walks out of the store. I guess she had a rough day or something.
I go to the sandwiches and I grab one. I look at the clock, its already going on 1pm. Lunch time. I go back to the counter and I organize the Yen in the drawer. I put the sandwich next to drawer, saving it for Shigrechi. Shigrechi is one of the middle schoolers here, and is friends with Okayasu and Josuke. I'm glad that they are friends with Shigrechi.
The first person to walk in is Kira. He is one of the office workers in downtown, but he always seems rather quiet half the time. He always talks about how he wants to live a quiet, peaceful life. He walks to the sandwiches and grabs one. The sandwiches tend to sell very fast, and that's why I saved one for Shigrechi, because those are his favorites.
Kira goes to the drinks and grabs a bottle of water. Then he walks to the counter. He hands me his Yen and I hand him his change. He didn't even say thank you or anything. Typical.
A couple more customers come in, also buying sandwiches. There's only 2 left, now. Shigrechi, Josuke, and Okayasu walk in. I wave to them, and they walk up to the counter.
"Hello, Akari!" They all greet me.
"Hello guys! And here's this, Shigrechi! It's all on me!" I hand Shigrechi the sandwich.
"Hey! What about us?!" Josuke and Okayasu exclaim.
"I gave y'all those egg salads for free last week!" I laugh. Josuke and Okayasu get fake mad.
"Don't worry about it, theres 2 left, y'all can have those for free as well." I also grab a couple Colas and put them on the counter.
"Thanks, Akari. You're the best." Josuke smiles.
"You only saying that because I give you free food!" I laugh. "It's okay. Y'all are amazing, and y'all deserve it." I hand them the Colas, making them even more happy. If my manager finds out about this someday, I'm so sure that I'm going to get fired.
The next couple hours go by pretty slow, people are busy at work and school. My shift is over, and the next person to work comes in.
I walk into the taxi that I called 30 minutes ago and I head home.
Today's been a good day.
