The shore and stars rise, recede within me.

Exhaled Sand

Sand–

Sand– layers

Sand– layers of dust crushed

Sand– layers of dust crushed by stirred seashores,

Sand– layers of dust crushed by stirred seashores, ruptured from rubble

as the Moon and Sun swirl

as the Moon and Sun swirl bold borderlines between blurred

as the Moon and Sun swirl bold borderlines between blurred curtains of the sky. Cosmos cast

as the Moon and Sun swirl bold borderlines between blurred curtains of the sky. Cosmos cast galaxies glistened in specks of stars,

as the Moon and Sun swirl bold borderlines between blurred curtains of the sky. Cosmos cast galaxies glistened in specks of stars, stippled in primordial strands of fire.

Yet, lumped blots of beaches and time mirror

Yet, lumped blots of beaches and time mirror measureless horizons that hush thoughts,

Yet, lumped blots of beaches and time mirror measureless horizons that hush thoughts, as the starshine and shores conjoin

Yet, lumped blots of beaches and time mirror measureless horizons that hush thoughts, as the starshine and shores conjoin inside this coast of moated

Yet, lumped blots of beaches and time mirror measureless horizons that hush thoughts, as the starshine and shores conjoin inside this coast of moated sunrises this world breathes.

We sigh winds that whirl:

We sigh winds that whirl: dashes of dreams

We sigh winds that whirl: dashes of dreams layered in

We sigh winds that whirl: dashes of dreams layered in exhaled

We sigh winds that whirl: dashes of dreams layered in exhaled sand.

(Aside) Hey, Commaful! It's been a while since I've written or posted anything and I wanted to share something that I wrote last Friday as a part of a university assignment. :)

For the assignment, I had to write a poem on a subject that increased and decreased, with the syllable count rising and declining as the lines go on. I tried to make use of poetic devices like alliteration (hehe) and assonance to emphasize the increasingly large nature of the imagery, which should help to make its abstraction more approachable.

I hope that you all enjoyed this one! I will be writing more for this class and I may share more posts and come back to revise these, too. Take care, Commaful, and keep on writing! <3
