A splash of passion sparkles in your eye.

Coloursplash

I feel grey.

No, not dark grey or light grey but just grey.

I’m trapped in a sunset with cold kisses and horizon hues of endless dreams with invisible rust.

It’s not right, it’s not real – is it?

It’s not right, it’s not real – is it? The dust of loneliness is what I can trust as I fall, hauling these worn shoes of my soul into this monotonous abyss.

The horizon is a rewinding tape of static noise and I can’t twinkle to sleep.

The horizon is a rewinding tape of static noise and I can’t twinkle to sleep. Everything else is outside of this endless, deathless feeling of nothingness.

I can’t even paint words without a voice.

I can’t even paint words without a voice. I have nothing to say and nothing to feel.

I can’t even paint words without a voice. I have nothing to say and nothing to feel. It’s ethereal without the beauty of the word.

It’s ethereal without the beauty of the word.

I just want to go to sleep and wake into baked tropical colours of fruitful frenzies and energetic ecstasies.

I just want to dream and forget the grey that seeps into my head like a crying inkwell.

I just want something.

That’s when you happened.

I feel a tangerine tug and a cloudless call to some unknown fantasy;

I feel a tangerine tug and a cloudless call to some unknown fantasy; a galaxy of grapevines that seems intoxicating to reality.

You splash an orchard of oranges to paint pastels into my sunset,

You splash an orchard of oranges to paint pastels into my sunset, a warm whizz of emotions before my eyes.

A dominion of grey skies cry rainbows stripes into a new empire of buzzing-bee yellows and rapturous reds –

A dominion of grey skies cry rainbows stripes into a new empire of buzzing-bee yellows and rapturous reds – an acropolis wraps under a future I did not expect.

I don’t feel perfect.

I don’t feel your presence past the whirly wisps that glide like paper planes five-thousand miles in the air.

I don’t feel like the colours splashed all the grey away into an ocean distracted by your mosaic of infinite surprises.

I don’t even feel that you liked me at first.

I don’t even feel that you liked me at first. You just came and the colours didn’t just splash…

They poured into an ocean in all shades,

They poured into an ocean in all shades, even those unknown to all of reality and imagination.

You’re a knight that paints Everest into Olympus Mons;

You’re a knight that paints Everest into Olympus Mons; home into an empire;

You’re a knight that paints Everest into Olympus Mons; home into an empire; pride into love!

You’ve gone into the fire and you still smile towards the trial of hope ahead;

You’ve gone into the fire and you still smile towards the trial of hope ahead; dreams that radiate passion halfway across the world and never extinguish in the stars!

They all feel closer here and I can feel your embrace through the full moon that shimmers over my horizon.

I can’t capture you with any colour or word, though.

I can’t capture you with any colour or word, though. No rainbow or spectrum will ever sing why you shine.

Only your voice, heart, and brilliance will shatter the abstraction of you,

Only your voice, heart, and brilliance will shatter the abstraction of you, for you are true!

I don’t need to dream any longer or feel bad about the grey.

I don’t need to dream any longer or feel bad about the grey. It’s just another colour to paint over.

Go up into the clouds, the stars, the universe!

Go up into the clouds, the stars, the universe! My eyes will never forget your splash!

(Aside) I apologize for being a bit inactive over the past week or so, but I was busy with schoolwork... A lot of reading, research, and writing! It all turned out well, though. :)

I'm not too sure how this piece turned out, but I hope the poetic prose style came across well. I didn't use figurative language consistently, but I wanted to focus more on the narrative of this piece.

It's something that I wanted to write for a bit of time, but I felt like I was finally ready to write it! Maybe not, though. It's about someone who makes me smile. :)

Anyway, I hope that you all enjoyed this piece! It's very special to me, despite my opinion of the outcome. Take care, all! <3
