We called each other up, in the early morning. Anxious, lonely. Searching for.. something.
I turned off the TV off and came as quickly as I was able.
I found you on the couch, sat next to you.
You talked to me, close to tears, but all I could do was comfort you.
Our bodies gravitated closer, until we were stuck.
To be intertwined with another being; combined with another collection of cells, memories, experiences.
So close we may as well be one.
No false expectations, no disappointed persons.
Just unbiased reality and comfort.
We called each other up, searching, not for sex, but something familiar.
And we found it, at least for now.
