New Years

by sleeplesstruths

I love fireworks

I love colourful lights

I love staring at them

And just admiring them

My family knows this

And yet my parents said no

I asked them for such a simple request

To go and see the fireworks at the Harbour Bridge

I knew my cousins were going

Asked them to ask my mum if I could go

Still the answer was no

Did I do something?

I'm 17 in 12 days

And yet I'm restricted and cooped up in this house I live in

And I don't know what I can do

Maybe I've been doing something wrong

Maybe I just need to reflect on my life.

Goodness gracious, your parents are showing how much they love you by setting limits. You'll have plenty of time to visit the bridge in your next 100 yrs of life. Great post!!!!
