A sonnet about departed loved ones and how they are still with us.

When the leaves fade, and the sun starts to set

The light fades out as the day is ending.

A parting I am not ready for yet.

Be still, and you can feel the Earth mending.

When your eyes close, as you drift off to sleep,

What you want to remember is your choice.

Remember my touch, there’s no need to weep.

Listen to the wind, and you’ll hear my voice.

And now close your eyes, and dream of me here.

Dream of the times when we laughed at the beach.

You might not know but we’ll always be near,

Remember, I’ll never be out of reach.

So, so long for now. I bid you farewell

I’m off to a place where the dreamers dwell.
