Clumps of moss filled the cracks of the castle walls
And the ancient stone was scattered with yellow lichen
The ruins of rooms where there were once held colourful parties and feasts
The castle was now quiet.
Except for the sound of the cold , howling wind
And the waves, crashing gently into the shore
The castle was just stood there, almost sadly.
As the world went by around it and it was left behind in history.
Forgotten by time.
Overgrown and abandoned
Ancient and crumbling
Rough, ivy covered stones
Stacked in walls where towers had once been
The ruins gazed upon the dull beach
They were now the home of bird nests and vegetation
No longer the home of wealthy lords or noble warriors
But a home of peacefulness and life.

Left Behind In Time
