"May I sit down?"
The young boy shrugged his shoulders and gulped his drink. The small old man (about 80 or 90 years old) sat beside him, looked at boy up and down.
"drinking alcohol at 9 AM, oh you are definitely in a terrible situation!"
The boy kept drinking and ignored him.
"Messy hair and disheveled face...it's clear that you live alone.... wait a minute, there is a ring on your finger ... I see... you got divorced but you still love her!"
The old man took a deep breath and went on: "You are sitting here at this time so it's obvious you are idle and of course penniless."
The boy turned his head and looked at him sharply. Then he drank all his bottle with no breath.
"You know, one day I was like you...as miserable and useless as you"
The boy finally got mad. He knocked his bottle down and it turned into thousands of pieces.
"Hey, do you want to shut your mouth up?" He cried, angrily.
The old man raised his hands up in surrender. "All right, calm down, I just came to give you an offer which could solve all of your problems.... now if you are not interested, it's okay I'll leave you alone...sorry for Disturbance."
He said quietly, stood on his feet and dragged himself away.
"What offer?" The boy asked with curiosity. The old man stopped and turned to him
"A new and different life"
“What do you mean?”
the old man returned to his seat and coughed hardly. "owning a penthouse in the best place of city, living with a pretty and kind lady who is always around and admires you.
You would always have delicious food which serves on time, you can watch TV as much as you want and nobody nags and judges you."
The boy looked around suspiciously. "Is this a kind of joke?"
"No, not at all" The old man said, laughing. "as I told you I had a life like you until I faced with somebody, I chose my path and now I have everything that I mentioned."
"all of them for free?!" The boy asked with hesitation.
"of course not, but you can pay the price ... by accepting the deal.... first I should warn you boy... there will be no way back to this life...ever!"
"why on earth should I want to back to this poor life?" He said, grinning.
"OK then we have a deal, now take my hands, close your eyes and count to five"
Although the boy was unsure about his words, held his hands "whatever, there is nothing to lose" he said in a whisper. So closed his eyes. "1, 2, 3, 4, 5"
As he opened them, found himself lying down on the bed, covered with an expensive and soft bedspread. He sat up and looked around he was right in a large room with huge TV.
He could see the best view of the city through the windows. He was wondered that door rattled and brought him back to himself. An attractive girl with blond hair and blue eyes appeared.
"Are you ready to take a shower, sir?" She said gently. He shook his head happily, wanted to jump out of the bed but his back hurt.
The girl approached him and took his hands, suddenly he caught sight of his hands.... It astonished him that they had lot of wrinkles.
"What happened sir?" The girl asked with smile.
"Mirror...give me a mirror" He cried.
The girl handed a mirror to him immediately. He looked at himself and threw it away with horror.
He was about crying that heard a sound out of the window so dragged himself to the window and saw surprisingly a familiar face down the building,
a young boy with messy hair and disheveled face who was waving at him with a mysterious smile.
