The meaning of poetry

Ars Poetica

A poem, once finished,

Should return to the

Earth.

I would trade the

Memory of centuries

For a season of verse.

A poem is high pressured,

And it needs no permission

To peek behind the curtains.

I reject young emotions/

They glitter like silver, causing

Fools to kneel longer during prayer.

A poem is an engineer,

A keeper, clinging to a pulse

That renews, endures, forever.
