The four steps to being successful at any job, especially your first one.

Success at your First Job

Adapted from Alex Kantrowitz (@Kantrowitz) on Twitter

Show Up To Work

Don't make complaints, don't slack. Unless you work remotely, showing face and collaborating in-person is extremely valuable.

Bust your ass

Work hard and play hard. Find the passion in your job and put in your blood, sweat and tears.

Don't complain

If you're unhappy, tell a mentor or friend. Complaining about everything can hurt company culture and the work environment.

Be patient

This probably won't be your last job, and this might not be your favorite job. But follow the first three rules, add a dash of patience and you'll be rewarded handsomely.
