an ode to the lovers who cried 'wolf' far too late

darling wolf

by rosamunde

you pulled her into your arms -

without a trace of doubt

and never even realised

that doing so, you let her at your throat

now you lay there, bleeding

in the aftermath of her teeth, her claws

and "i should have known"

is such an easy thing to say.
