Oh , the pungent smells of death, carved into the
souls, engraved into the hearts of those fortunate
to have survived!

Fallen Leaf

Fallen leaves from the fields had seen the fruits of youth

The fallen leaves bring to mind the untimely Death of the Mortal Flesh

Fallen for many years orchards strewn with memories! The fruits of happiness and sorrow

Yet it’s Beauty is a reflection of the souls sorrow....

He was just another ordinary man , fighting for a cause, ready to save his fellow brothers from the casualty’s of War!

A sniper bullet hit it’s target! The fallen soldier lays in a pool of blood! His fruits of happiness obliterated

Oh , the pungent smells of death, carved into the souls, engraved into the hearts of those fortunate to have survived!

Such cruelties of war, yet his death was Instantaneous

Scattered about, are the golden hues of his youth! Long before a bullet took it all away

He kneels deep in thought the smells of home cooked meals The sounds of laughter fill the air! For a few stolen moments He’s at home!

Then the sounds of war echoes into his ears! Confusion sets in! Satisfied at first that he has killed the enemy, then haunted as time passes by Deep sorrow piercing the fabric of his soul!

He’s Just another man, a fallen leaf, a casualty of war!

Stuck in time , he’s a ghost, a spirit, perhaps in another Dimension! Praying to make it home safely
