Dear Mom

by rinkika

I am old enough

Makeup isn't for vanity. It's to hide insecurities

A girl can dress how she wants and while you may judge her, she looks good and that's all that matters

MY body. I don't care how someone looks at it. It's not sexual until someone thinks of it like that. Then that's their problem

Boys or girls or whatever they are, I promise I have gone through careful contemplation over them

I will grow up

I will kiss someone

I will wear what I want

I will hear what I want because it is my armor. It protects me. I know what I look like. I know how I want to present myself. Not everyone is going to like me but it's better than not being me
