Where will the salt go
when the ocean has dried up?
What will become of the wildlife
when the sun's scorch becomes too strong?
How long will the ozone protect us for?
I ponder this as I jump
from a privileged family's sailboat.
My body hits the water,
or I slide through the water's cracks.
Either way I sink
until it hits me that there's no bottom
no safety net made up of you
in this deep blue.
