Thoughts from today’s morning walk with the dog.

Snowfall

The dark, early morning sky is contrasted by the white covering that is peacefully resting. Streetlights illuminating the ground as if the sun is trying to shine upward. Tree branches dotted with soft white cotton.

A dusting of icing sugar falling from the sky, as the tiny flakes fall quietly like feathers. Snowflakes slow dance in the air, enjoying the freedom before gathering. Each one so small, so unique, together forming dunes of snowy diamonds.

The wintery white drifts glitter like stars in a far away galaxy. A carpet of miniature twinkle lights, each taking their turn to shine. The virgin snow, undisturbed, begging to come to life. Foot and paw prints granting this wish as the first trail of the day is made.

It is crisp outside, but the snow is fluffy, like walking through clouds. Warmth radiates from within as this beautiful scene is truly a gift.
