In the midst of the crowd, Margie and Ken watched as everyone packed their living room. They signed a list wondering if they would get the ultimate question right: Boy or Girl?
The excitement of these events are now a "big thing" Margie thought, holding her husband's hand tight. Their hearts racing, they realized they didn't tell the entire story about their baby.
Both mothers sat opposite ends of the room smiling and jeering one another playfully, with the fathers relaxed on the sofa.
In the distance were friends who had known the couple wanted a child for so long.
Finally a friend rolled the box into the room and people patted their legs like a drum roll. The husband smiled as he began the unwrapping phase.
No one noticed the partially wrapped area in the back, and could have cared less- the wiles of husband trying to please his wife, they thought.
As they opened the box, blue streamers were thrown into the air! Everyone cheered.
Margie then picked up their three month-old puppy and raised him into the sky for all to see.
