Why have an obsession statement?
My obsession statement is so actively present in my life that the obsession actually gets at me. Well, to me, success is not about vision statements and mission statements.
It is to have an obsession statement that clearly states what you want when you want it and how you're going to attain it.
Nothing should stop you once you fix your goal in pursuing your desires. The word 'obsession' means an idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person's mind.
It is to consciously make an effort to keep your goals at top priority over other things that you may have in line to get done.
It is a simple principle where you only have a focused mind while working towards your goal. Writing your obsession statement helps in remembering your true vision.
Every task at hand has the ability to change your course of action, if so, then your focus may tend to be led by such tasks.
Having a methodical approach to this by stating your goal and then to actively pursue what you are willing to achieve.
In my 30 years of experience, where I was in a path of constant achievement, I learned that understanding my goal is key to achieving it.
This can start with a trigger, a statement to point me in the direction I have to be, even if other matters at hand may distract me.
Success is not just the idea of achieving one's goals and desires, it is also the path we take to attain it.
A regularized technique can affect the results positively while on-the-fly actions may hinder the real potential of any effort put in.
So write down what you desire every year and keep your heart set at it. The key is to never get distracted by the other tasks that may arise.
