I am but a mute wreck, hidden in the sea,
Once christened with pride, the Adventure Galley.
Broken I am, yet yearning within, to paint the story,
Of many voyages, most of them gory,
And impart lessons, and learnings from history.
Sailors sang songs, when treasure belonged,
To them out of loot, from vessels they stormed
Recall I do, the upheavals and uproar,
The crew revolting, their captains' power.
Witness I was, to undue attacks,
That devoured the lives of many bluejackets.
Money can elevate, and it can eliminate,
A lesson learned in sailing, my primary tutelage.
Best of one's friends, turned foes by weekend
Loyalty was so frail, in seconds it weakened
Celebrated privateers, with papers crystal clear
Were condemned as pirates, and hanged O Dear!
Selfishness at its best, reared its ugly head
On spotting a treasure, and greediness it bred.
Unspeakable atrocities, of wars on cities,
What terrible injuries, under many hues of skies.
Most terrible acts, vanished in time,
But fragments of those, are still left behind.
History behind me, with hope I aver,
That humans are headed, in directions better.
Temporary upheavals, are a necessary evil,
To move the world over, the next uphill.
But not to lose heart, nor to be torn apart,
By troubles that are tiny? No, you're better than smart.
Go forward mate, join and collaborate,
With like minded humans.. To win love, peace and prosperity for all... And then celebrate!
