life is but a fraction of immortality.

ephemeral

by rain

we're only a wave on the sand, the ocean's touch barely a breath of god

we are seconds on eternity's clock, we are nothing, we will not last.

baby, breathe me immortality, make the second hands freeze-

stop this timeless eternity that holds us hostage.

this life is ephemeral.

baby, write me a sonnet, give each second a meaning, write a future that lasts forever, make this life my favorite eternity.

This was well thought out. I loved the way you ordered your verses into stanzas. The meaningfulness of this poem is bound to strike a deep chord with all who read it. Great poem!!!
