AND THE CITY BURNS DOWN

by rain

the fogs rolls through the mountains.

peaceful mornings and picturesque miniatures -

torn apart by the clouds and the sunrise...

can you feel the earth shake?

god knows i do.

the bomb went off in the morning.

and the sunrise burns down the sky,

fire spreading through the clouds, the world falling down.

all the children sleep, when the world falls down.

they aren't meant to see the sunrise tear apart the sky. the adults look away, they don't want to see humanity carve a broken heart into the galaxy.

they let the bomb tear these lives apart.

there's no stopping this new world's sunrise.

all the children sleep, and the bomb won't wake them.

there is no alarm clock for these children of death.

WOW!!! This was a catchy little poem. I think I will read my grandchildren to sleep with it. This is a wonderfully chaotic and bombastic (please forgive). This is timeless. I loved your message. Great work!!!!!!
