My scars could tell a story. One could be a tale of self harm from the outside looking in. The real stories are locked in my memories. I've thought about actually committing self harm numerous times, but decided not to and closed the door on that chapter of my life. Inspired by the song "when you see my friends" by Mayday Parade.

When I saw your knees, the scars weren't hard to notice.
What happened to you? Were you hurt somehow?
Did you cut yourself so the pain could spill out?
When showing off your belly, the scar at the bottom had me worried.
Who did that to you? Who could want you in pain?
The smaller scars aren't as visible, but you know they're there.
Sometime they're hidden, but can become the reason for the stares.
You're too beautiful and special to treat yourself like dirt, boo.
You deserve to live a better life and surround yourself with people who love you.
You deserve to smile, so do it more often.
Being strong enough to get through the pain is important.
You're an amazing person who can conquer her whole world.
