Nameless Victims

by popgoes

I am a flame you snuffed out

You'll remember my name like water remembers the name of those who've drowned

And if I was a ship cruising on the high seas

You wouldn't even be the rocks that wrecked me You'd be the waves pulling me down Until there is no more need to breathe

For I have had my last breath taken away

From something that once kept me afloat

I guess you never truly know

What demons lye beneath

Wowzer! Your choice of words and symbolism is utterly fantastic. This is an excellent poem. It is evocative and deep with meaning. i have great respect for the poetic construction. The short terse stanzas are so moving as they combine with the graphics to leave you breathless.
