Yet another poem story!

August

A girl with pastel highlights

A girl with rainbow socks

A girl seen as odd

Scolded

She wears her white hightops

And goes out in the dark

To see the seen

And to see the unknown

Spirling down

Down

Down

The silver staircase of down town

Into where the "cool" reside

She sits back

Looks at the scene

But, becomes hated inside

She's different

Is she worse?

Is difference negative?

Should she change?

Would that be better

She listens to weird music

She likes weird things

"What are you doing here?"

Someone always asked

She would stutter in reply

Only receaving laughs and sneers

"Why the hell are you here?"

Someone asked

"N-no r-r-"

She heard the shrill laugh of her distresser

"Thought so."

August would shrink and think about the ledge

"Go away!" someone shouted.

"August go away! September's here!"

September in all her blond glory shoved August away.

No one really knows September outside of here anyhow

August looked into the sky and whispered a soft goodbye

She shrunk against the smooth brick wall and whispered:

"Who belongs? Not I."
