Goldilocks and the Three Bears (Retelling)

I’ll say

I’ll say, once upon a time

I’ll say, once upon a time A girl in a forest of pine

I’ll say, once upon a time A girl in a forest of pine Fair hair

I’ll say, once upon a time A girl in a forest of pine Fair hair, blue dress

I’ll say, once upon a time A girl in a forest of pine Fair hair, blue dress, red socks

I’ll say, once upon a time A girl in a forest of pine Fair hair, blue dress, red socks By the name of Goldilocks

Her hair like shining gold

Her hair like shining gold With curiosity uncontrolled

Her hair like shining gold With curiosity uncontrolled She often looked for and found

Her hair like shining gold With curiosity uncontrolled She often looked for and found The adventure lying around

On one bright sunny morn

On one bright sunny morn With caution long forsworn

On one bright sunny morn With caution long forsworn She set out on a stroll

On one bright sunny morn With caution long forsworn She set out on a stroll Through the forest whole

She came across a cottage and slowly peeked inside

She came across a cottage and slowly peeked inside Then knocked upon the door

She came across a cottage and slowly peeked inside Then knocked upon the door, as her interest must have implied

She came across a cottage and slowly peeked inside Then knocked upon the door, as her interest must have implied No one came to the door

She came across a cottage and slowly peeked inside Then knocked upon the door, as her interest must have implied No one came to the door, so she just walked right in

She came across a cottage and slowly peeked inside Then knocked upon the door, as her interest must have implied No one came to the door, so she just walked right in And didn’t realize it was three bears that actually lived within

The family went blue berry picking

In hunger

In hunger, she proceeds because the occasion seems befitting

The first thing she noticed after entering the cottage;

Were three steaming bowls of porridge

She couldn't resist

So thought of bringing a twist

And took a spoonful of porridge from Papa bear's huge bowl

And took a spoonful of porridge from Papa bear's huge bowl Then, yelped when her mouth felt hot as lava, for she couldn't control

And tastes Mama bear's porridge from the medium sized bowl

And tastes Mama bear's porridge from the medium sized bowl She moans, as it's cold as gazpacho and freezing is her soul

When savors the porridge in baby bear's bowl

When savors the porridge in baby bear's bowl "Mmmmmmmm" she closes her eyes happily because looks like she made it to her goal

After finishing the porridge

After finishing the porridge, her adventurous side began to take over

After finishing the porridge, her adventurous side began to take over And she began to wander

After finishing the porridge, her adventurous side began to take over And she began to wander, to the parlor

After finishing the porridge, her adventurous side began to take over And she began to wander, to the parlor, her curiosity drove her

Here

Here, she saw three chairs

Here, she saw three chairs, plush and made of wool

First she sat in Papa Bear’s huge chair

First she sat in Papa Bear’s huge chair, but jumped with a scowl

For, because of its largeness

For, because of its largeness, she complained it was foul

Next, she sat in Mama’s medium sized chair

And also announced it was too big in despair

After that, she sat in the spot of baby bear

CRACK!

It was too comfortable, and she had no energy to fix the broken chair

And she didn't have energy to fix the broken chair

And she didn't have energy to fix the broken chair, There, a sleepy Goldilocks wearily climbing the stairs

For the first bed she saw, was Papa Bear's huge bed

For the first bed she saw, was Papa Bear's huge bed Complaining that the bed is as hard as granite, she looks ahead

Plopped on Mama Bear's medium-sized bed, and screams for help

Plopped on Mama Bear's medium-sized bed, and screams for help Sinking, she felt

Plopped on Mama Bear's medium-sized bed, and screams for help Sinking, she felt From the middle of the bed, she climbs out, frowning, she says

Plopped on Mama Bear's medium-sized bed, and screams for help Sinking, she felt From the middle of the bed, she climbs out, frowning, she says This bed is as soft as a giant, girl- eating cotton ball

Onto Teeny Baby Bear's small bed, she smiles, closes her eyes

Onto Teeny Baby Bear's small bed, she smiles, closes her eyes Saying that this bed isn't just comfy and cozy, in fact it's just...Zzzz....that she doesn't realize

Now listen, calm is not the way things are

Now listen, calm is not the way things are For the owners of the house are not far

Now listen, calm is not the way things are For the owners of the house are not far The family returns from picking their berries

Now listen, calm is not the way things are For the owners of the house are not far The family returns from picking their berries And finds their day to be not so airy

And, as they opened the cottage door

And, as they opened the cottage door They found that another has been there before

Mama and Papa bear found their porridge has been dined on

Mama and Papa bear found their porridge has been dined on And, with a growl, Baby Bear saw that his is all gone

Next, the hungry bears walk into the living room

Next, the hungry bears walk into the living room And in a glance, like a volcano they fume

Papa bear growls and stares

Papa bear growls and stares, Exclaims that someone has been sitting on my chair

Snarls, the Mother bear

Snarls, the Mother bear, Declaring that someone has been sitting on my chair

In a teeny bear growl, the little bear annoys

In a teeny bear growl, the little bear annoys, "Someone has been sitting on my chair and is broken in hundreds of pieces, " he says

The hungry, angry bears march up the stairs

The hungry, angry bears march up the stairs Angrily prepared for what they’re to find there

“Someone’s been sleeping in my bed,” said Papa and Mama Bear with a growl

And Baby Bear exclaimed, “someone’s in my bed, and she’s still there!” with a howl

When Goldilocks saw the bears, she jumped up with horror

Flew past the porridge, chairs, and right out the door

Goldilocks never went back to the home of the three bears, out of pure fright

But she often did dream of the porridge, chair and bed, for they were really just right
