“What the hell is going on?”, the girl asked, looking at Jeremy extremely annoyed.
“Destiny, I killed the spider in the mailbox!” Jeremy shouted happily. The girl, who Jeremy called Destiny, finally noticed me standing there awkwardly, and asked who I was.
“I’m (my name),” I said loud enough for her to hear me, “ I moved in with my grandfather over there,” pointing to my house. “I’m here for the summer.
” “Oh okay”, Destiny said, It was hard to tell if she actually cared or not. She and I started to talk while Jeremy and Jack played around in the puddles.
After a few minutes of talking, she invited me to her house. We just talked about ourselves, she told me some things about her and I told her some things about myself.
Now, this is where the magic happens.“If you don’t mind me asking, how old are you?” Destiny asked.
“I’m thirteen, why do you ask?”
“Because I have a cousin named Gavin who’s fourteen.”
“That’s cool.”, I said, trying to sound as interested as possible, even though I truly wasn’t.
“He’s here now if you want to meet him.” She said, “I won't force you to
if you don’t want to.”
“ No it’s fine, I might as well meet everyone,” I said, which caused her to laugh.
“Gavin, get your ass down here!”, She yelled, causing whoever was snoring upstairs to stop.
