Honorable Discharge
My first heartbreak felt like something that nobody had ever battled before
Yet I look all around
and there the people stand
Warriors
Soldiers in combat
Veterans
Each with a heart on their sleeve a little more covered up than the last time I saw them
Vulnerability
Is the biggest sign of
Strength
To love
after losing something so precious
Is a victory
and we are victorious.
Triumphant amongst our leaders
who pave the way for future treaties
Though this love may not be the irrevocable kind of eternal monogamy
This love dwells in a room alone
Conspiring and escape route due to
alien residence
And I ache for a touch so gentle and soft as gunpowder
Like the way it comes out of my mouth when serenading parts of my body
Thanking them for their service
A rebellious act of defiance
To say no more
Soft and sweet kisses to the bone
Before I lay in a grave alone
Wishing and regretting that my sacred devotion was not taken for granted in this lifetime
And the flower was only acknowledged for its' beauty
Instead of picking its' petals
Staring into the lavatory mirror
i smirk
Love
the Victor
the Honorable Victor
There is no more sounds of bombs going off
And I am no longer a prisoner of war
