but seriously....why?

Why is 'potato' always used negatively in phrases?

'couch potato'

'he looks like a potato'

Seriously though....what the hell have potatoes ever done to you? Like potatoes are actually the MVPs of the food world.

potatoes never let you down. whether it's a french fry or mashed potato dish, they're seriously epic. they're the real winners here

we should feel honored to be described as one

And if you would like to read about potato in Romanian while attempting lingual context, I encourage viewing https://www.dailymotion.c... (not sure what the rules are about linking here, but basically, it's Blackadder, the Potato episode, with Romanian subtitles)

Well, in all honestly, I think I'd rather be called a potato than a kumquat!

Well, that is a hot potato that you threw us there. In my youth (more than sixty years ago) we had these "potato guns" You pushed it into the potato then fired it at anybody who made pwjorative remarks about potatoes. Great post!!!!
