my body

by pendekarsarden

my eyes

kaleidoscopes of frozen ocean i beg for them to melt but so far he is the only one warm enough to do so

my belly

swarming with butterflies devouring each other tearing bloody wings apart racing to flutter up my throat.

my breasts

they protect my heart like a cage whose key a degree away from unlocking.

my mouth

seemingly only good for throwing up and sewn shut otherwise but goddamn he took the thread pulled them apart till i came undone.

my lungs

crushing under the weight of my heart (and his) – i would say that he has taken my breath away, but there was not much left for him, anyway but thats okay thats okay thats okay

Wow! That was sensational. The words conveyed such ethos. I could feel the anguish and hoped for ecstasy and you delivered. The allegory of the swarming butterflies was genius. I enjoyed every stanza of this blockbusting powerful poem.
